| MY RAINBOW FRIEND MATTHEW My pal Matthew and his great Mom Susan volunteered to do "Your Page" this Month. Well that's not exactly true--I begged them to do it. And they are so nice they said okay, even though they have a wonderful website of their own called "A GREAT DAY" (CLICK ON LINK AT BOTTOM). Matthew had already honored Marvel Place linking it to his site on what he calls his "Rainbow of the World Page". Oh yes I musn't forget to tell you, that Matthew holds the rank of General of Marvel Place Inspiration Corp. But Now his MOM should tell you something about my pal. "Say hello to Matthew, a happy, energetic thirteen year old with an optimistic attitude that rarely falters and a zest for life. He does well at school, enjoys computer games, basketball and loves playing golf. Now that you have formed a mental image of him, would it change if I were to also tell you he has Down Syndrome? Does having a disability somehow lessen any qualities he may possess? While you mull this over, let us see if Matthew has any words of wisdom for us." Susan, Matthew's proud Mom.

My pal the Rainbow General, knows something that a lot of kids and Grown-ups don't...
"Every morning is the start of a great day. Just do your best and don't be afraid to try new things, even if people don't think you can do it."Captain Bernie says:"Thank you Matthew, that is good advice, I have to remember that. You are right; think about it, if Mazel had listened to the human beings and other dogs she never would have tried to fly...she just tried...I guess. (Matthew loves the photo of Mazel flying, which is on the Photoart page of this site. So I'm going to keep it there this month to honor Matthew)...that's the thing about Generals they are always getting honors...

Ask the General: "First you make the drive than you take the ride
With Matthew it is easier to determine his handicap on the golf course than in living his life. Actually here is what Matthew had to say when driving the cart..."Someone tell my Mom I know this isn't an SUV !"
